A rehearsal removes the guesswork. When you've walked through the ceremony once — where to stand, when to move, what happens when — the actual day feels completely different. The nerves of the unknown are replaced by a quiet confidence. Hayley includes an in-person rehearsal with every wedding ceremony she conducts. It's not optional and it's not a luxury: it's part of how she makes sure your ceremony runs exactly as you've imagined it.
Hayley is a registered New Zealand marriage and civil union celebrant based in New Brighton, Christchurch. She takes one ceremony per day — which means when you work with her, her complete attention is yours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about rehearsal support.
Yes — an in-person rehearsal is included with every wedding ceremony Hayley conducts. It's not an add-on; it's part of the service. Hayley believes strongly in the value of a rehearsal for giving couples confidence and ensuring the day runs smoothly.
It happens occasionally. Hayley can conduct a rehearsal at another location — a similar outdoor space, a backyard, or even a large indoor room. The ceremony walk-through doesn't require the exact venue; it requires the people and the run order. She'll make it work.
Ideally: the couple, the wedding party (bridesmaids, groomsmen, ring bearers, flower girls), parents who have roles in the ceremony, and any readers. Partners of the wedding party don't need to attend. The rehearsal usually takes 45–60 minutes.
Usually between 45 minutes and an hour and a quarter. A smaller wedding party moves through more quickly; a larger one with complex processionals, multiple readers, or very young children takes longer. Hayley keeps the rehearsal purposeful — her goal isn't a perfect dress rehearsal, it's ensuring everyone knows their role so they can relax completely on the day.
Yes — if children have roles like flower child or ring bearer, it's worth including them. That said, Hayley runs the children's portion efficiently and doesn't expect the same focus from a five-year-old as from an adult. A short walkthrough of where to go and what to do is usually sufficient. If the child is very young, she adapts the approach accordingly — she's experienced with the full range of wedding party ages.
Hayley brings the ceremony script, which she reviews with the couple during the rehearsal so everyone can hear how it will flow. She'll check the signing table setup, confirm placement of the register, and walk through any venue-specific logistics. If there are last-minute changes to the script — a word adjusted, a paragraph moved — the rehearsal is the ideal time to make them.
